- enough postage (some returns require additional postage)

You can mail in your return and tax payment using a private delivery service instead of the U.S. Postal Service. If you use any private delivery service, send the forms to:

Return assembly
Follow these instructions for:
- IT-150 Resident Income Tax Return (short form)
- IT-201 Resident Income Tax Return (long form)
- IT-203 Nonresident and Part-Year Resident Income Return

Part 1: If you are not using tax preparation software, staple your check or money order to the front of your return. You can also pay directly from your bank account or by credit card. (See Part 4 if you are using tax preparation software.)
Part 2: Staple Form IT-2, Form IT-1099-R and federal form W-2G] to the last page of your return.
Part 3: Staple any other forms face up; including Forms IT-201-ATT and IT-203-ATT, and any correspondence and computation sheets of paper.
Part 4: If your tax preparation software prints a two dimensional (2-D) barcode cover sheet as page one of your return:
- place the sheet, face up, on the top of page one of your return and staple the entire return at the top of the cover sheet
- staple your check or money order to the front of the 2-D barcode cover sheet (or pay directly from your bank account or by credit card)
- reprint the 2-D barcode cover sheet if you change or reprint your return
- do not write, print or photocopy anything on the back of the 2-D barcode cover sheet
Part 5: Make a copy of your return and any other attached forms or papers for your records. You may be asked by the Tax Department to provide copies of these records after you have filed your income tax return.
